Budget

The Budget page answers a single, powerful question: how much can I actually throw at my debt this month? Track your income and expenses here, and the leftover becomes snowball fuel.

How the budget feeds the snowball

Your snowball is only as strong as the money behind it. By logging what comes in and what goes out, the app calculates your net income and how much is available for the snowball โ€” the extra you can pile onto your target debt. That figure flows straight into the Snowball Plan and the budget summary on your Dashboard.

The summary cards

Entering income & expenses

  1. Pick the month. The budget is organized month by month so you can plan ahead and look back.
  2. Add income rows. Enter each income source by category โ€” salary, side hustle, anything that comes in.
  3. Add expense rows. Log your spending by category โ€” rent, groceries, transit, and so on.
  4. Watch the net. The app totals each month and rolls it into the year-end figures automatically.

The more honest your expense entries, the more accurate your "available for snowball" number โ€” and the more trustworthy your payoff date.

Monthly Overview & Year Total

The Monthly Overview chart visualizes income vs. expenses across the year, so you can spot the lean months and the surplus months at a glance. Each category also rolls up into a Year Total column, giving you a full-year picture of where your money goes.

Editing & cleaning up

  • Edit any cell to adjust a figure as your real numbers come in.
  • Delete rows you no longer need โ€” select them and confirm. (Deletes can't be undone.)
๐Ÿ—ฝ Coach's note

Every dollar you find in the budget is a dollar that crushes debt faster. Trim the fat, find your surplus, and throw it at the snowball. That's how New Yorkers get it done.
